Whether it’s food, drink or entertainment we have it all at The Dirty Onion. Home to two bars, one restaurant and one of the biggest beer gardens in Belfast, we are sure to keep you entertained all year round.

We offer entertainment 7 nights a week, with a strong focus on contemporary live bands and acoustic acts… Oh, and we are free entry every night!

Monday

Live Music 7.30pm to 10pm

Every Monday night experience the very best the city has to offer with a selection of local acts performing chart-toppers and your favourite hits.

Musicians change regularly but expect to see Scotty Mac, James Downey, and Juram Juram.

Tuesday

Tuesday Sessions

Kick back and chill out with the likes of Connor Maley, Mark Hamilton, and Nathan Oregan every Tuesday evening. Each week the artists change but the music always stays first class!

Bodhran lessons | 8 pm - 10pm

Learn to play the Bodhrán, the Irish drum. Lessons are free and bodhráns are provided. Takes place in The Dirty Onion main bar.

Wednesday

Acoustic Sessions

We have the very best in live acoustic sessions from Belfast’s finest musicians in the beer garden every Wednesday evening! Expect excellence from Juram Juram and The Fables taking up the stage. Acts my change at late notice.

The Second Fiddle offers an outstanding music session called Handed-Down fronted by none other than Joshua Burnside. Expect traditional songs reworked and a laid-back atmosphere. Kicks off at 10pm-1pm

Thursday

Live Music and Small Pipe Lead Session

Whether it’s foot-tapping or a good proper jig you’re after The Fables and Scott MC are sure to get you going in The Dirty Onion beer garden! Artists may change last minute…

The Second Fiddle offers a small pipe lead session every Thursday from 8pm and it’s seriously not to be missed! Traditional music with a unique arrangement of bagpipes, guitar, and vocals

Friday

3 Live Acts Take The Stage

3 live acts are on offer every Friday at The Dirty Onion

Acoustic Sessions - Take place between 5pm and 10pm in the beer garden.

Live Band 10pm-late - See Facebook for details. Acts may include the Nine Inch Nialls, Drum and Bates or Jav & Dave.


The Second Fiddle hosts the finest late evening Trad sessions the city has to offer and you can sit back and enjoy from 6pm onwards

Saturday

Live bands and Trad

We’ve got entertainment all evening at the Onion every Saturday with some of the best local bands Belfast has to offer! Expect super talented guitarists, insane vocalists, and music that brings a unique and entertaining arrangement of contemporary songs.

Bands that grace the stage regularly are Nine Inch Nialls, Drum and Bates and Jav & Dave.

The session kicks off from 5.30pm to 1am


The Second Fiddle gets traditional on Saturdays and offers a fantastic chilled alternative from The Dirty Onion with trad music offered all day from 2pm

Sunday

Chilled vibes and Trad

We love a chill Sunday but that doesn’t mean we can’t offer some fantastic tuneage on stage throughout the day and you never know… things might just get lively! Expect music from Michael Kerr, The Fables and Nathan Oregan. Artists may change at the last minute.

The session kicks off from 6,30pm to 12am

The Second Fiddle is the place to be on Sundays if you’re looking for a hangover cure and some chilled vibes. It’s all about the trad….sessions take place by at 4pm-10pm.
